PLR stands for "Paradigm
LozT Regulars". The PLR was simply started as
way for me to say "thank you" to a core group of
Half-Life players that regularly played on the original
Paradigm L-oz-T server. There are no membership
requirements.
As Oz Deathmatch evolved, there came a point where Oz was
ruled by
clans. A lot of peer pressure was put on the remaining
freelancers to join clans and not all of them
really felt comfortable joining or got tired
of constantly being asked "Do you want to join our
clan?" every time they came into a server without a set
of brackets in front of their name. So the notion came
that players could use [PLR] as a clan tag, or rather
an anti-clan tag.
Currently the PLR has come to symbolize the freelance
player. Those
individuals who play for fun, to chat, and to share ideas.
The PLR has
grown to include folks who regularly read and post in
the
Paradigm LozT Forum.
If there was a requirement to be a PLR, I would have to
say it would
be a sense of humor. We seem to be a rather mischievous
lot.
A fitting motto would surely be:
"It's not whether you win or lose, but how you play the
game."
